Division stop Blue Line, O'Hare branch
Division: Ukrainian Village, Noble Square and East Village
housing, prices, transit, parks and schools

Division is a subway station under the Milwaukee, Ashland and Division intersection, one of the four Blue Line stops inside the West Town community area along with Grand, Chicago and Damen. Step out and you are at the top of the old Polish Downtown.
What it is like
Ukrainian Village sits south and west of the stop, between Division and Grand, Damen and Western, and it is still the commercial and spiritual hub for the Ukrainian community across the region. The housing is brick two-flats, greystones and the worker cottages that went up after the 1895 elevated line along Paulina opened this area for settlement. Noble Square is the wedge east of Ashland, denser and closer to the river; East Village is between the two. West of Western, Division becomes Paseo Boricua, the half-mile stretch of Puerto Rican shops and restaurants marked by two steel flags.
What it costs
Zillow Home Value Index for July 2026, the typical value of a middle-tier home: Noble Square $648,687 (+9.5% in a year), Ukrainian Village $596,729 (+9.3% in a year). The whole West Town community area, which holds all of these plus Wicker Park, reads $632,313 (+5.3% in a year). Ukrainian Village is where a buyer priced out of Wicker Park usually looks next, and the 9 percent year says plenty of them have.
Getting around
Blue Line, 24 hours, with the 9 Ashland, 56 Milwaukee and 70 Division buses at the door. The Kennedy is a short drive east.
Parks and schools
Pulaski Park, just east of Ashland, has a Jens Jensen fieldhouse from 1912-14 that is on the National Register and a Chicago Landmark. Humboldt Park, 197 acres with lagoons, an inland beach and a boathouse, is at the west end of Division. West Town's public high schools include Clemente and Wells, plus the Chicago High School for the Arts and Ogden International's west campus; K-8 options include Chopin, Columbus, de Diego, Otis, Pritzker and Talcott, and the Sabin dual-language magnet.
